Mission Statement

  • To provide the highest quality specialized patient care services for the diagnosis and treatment of skin disease
  • To provide a superior education to physicians-in-training in the principles of diagnosis and management of skin disease
  • To provide opportunities for clinical research/quality improvement that lead to a better understanding of cutaneous disease that improve clinical care

Aims

  • To educate residents on the specialized care of patients with diseases of the skin, hair, nails, and mucous membranes.
  • To educate trainees about normal skin physiology and help them develop a thoughtful and scholarly approach to cutaneous disease.
  • To educate trainees in the principles of clinical and basic research in normal and diseased skin.
  • To educate trainees in the art of teaching so that they may continue to impart their knowledge of dermatology to future trainees.
  • To ensure proficiency in the 6 core competencies:
