What Drew You to Rush: I spent several months volunteering at RUSH before residency. I found it to be a warm and welcoming environment and I could see myself working there in the future. I'm thankful that things have come full circle and I finally do!

Ahmed Radwan, DO
Hometown: Orland Park, IL
Residency: University of South Dakota, Sioux Falls, SD
What Drew You to Rush: I was drawn to RUSH for its incredibly kind and supportive faculty, strong training in autism care, school-based programs, and broad range of rotations - all while serving underserved communities. RUSH embodies the belief that if there's a will, there's a way, allowing me to pursue my passions with guidance and flexibility. Growing up in the Chicagoland area and now training near my family. makes this experience even more meaningful, as it truly feels like a return home.
Second-Year Fellows
Dhanya Baskaran, MD
Hometown: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Residency: Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana-Champaign, IL
What Drew You to Rush: I knew at my interview that the program was going to be supportive in more ways than one. The balance between high quality education, diverse patient population and opportunities for research is well supported by dedicated and compassionate faculty. Returning to my favorite city where I did all my clinical rotations in medical school has been the best decision.
