Fellows have exposure to a number of educational and research opportunities at RUSH.

 

Education & Conferences

  • Daily conference with a combination of lectures, socratic didactics, and case conferences covering all core and advanced cardiology curricula
  • Heart and Vascular Team collaborative conferences between multiple subspecialties including Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery to discuss management of complex patients
  • Monthly Grand Rounds conferences
  • Annual pig heart dissection
  • Extensive number of local Chicago and Illinois Conferences with great academic collaboration between local hospitals
  • Advanced Simulation Center with case simulation, vascular access simulation, advanced TEE simulator, and coronary angiogram simulator

 

Research

  • Fellows have a number of research opportunities available in all subspecialities of cardiology
  • A total of $2000 annually is available to cover costs of conference attendance
  • Research mentors are assigned according to the fellow’s individual career interests
