Health Systems Management Admissions Requirements

To be considered for admission into the health systems management program, you must have the following qualifications prior to enrolling in the program:

  1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  2. GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
  3. Statistics course completed
  4. Accounting course completed

Admissions Dates and Deadlines

Entry term: Fall (September)
Application cycle: September - February
Early application deadline: Dec. 1
Priority application deadline: Feb. 15
Final application deadline: Mar. 15

To apply to the health systems management program, complete the following steps:

  1. Complete an application using the Healthcare Administration, Management and Policy Centralized Application Service.
  2. Submit the following information directly to HAMPCAS:
    1. Official transcripts from every U.S. college or university attended. For coursework completed outside the United States, submit an international course evaluation.
    2. Name and email address of three references. HAMPCAS will contact each reference with instructions on how to complete an online evaluation.
    3. Personal statement.
    4. Resume.
  3. Submit official GRE or GMAT scores. You must have taken the exam within five years of submitting your application.
    1. For GRE scores, use institution code 0732 to send scores directly to HAMPCAS.
    2. For GMAT scores, send them to the Rush HSM department at 1700 W. Van Buren St., Suite 126B, Chicago, IL 60612.
  4. If your native language is not English, submit Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) scores.
  5. Participate in an on-campus interview. (International applicants can interview over the phone.)

You will be informed if you are required to complete the secondary Rush Application. Please do not complete the secondary application until you have been asked to do so.
