Doctor of Audiology Program

Audiologists are involved in the prevention, evaluation, diagnosis and management of hearing impairment; they administer and interpret various tests of auditory and vestibular function, fit hearing aids and other special devices and provide rehabilitative services.

As a student in this postbaccalaureate audiology program, you will receive outstanding clinical experiences with diverse patient caseloads in an academic medical center setting. You will progress through three levels of clinical education, including practicum, internships and a year-long, full-time externship.

Clinical placements are available both on and off campus. Students within this audiology program will be expected to meet the competencies set for each clinical level before you progress to the next clinical level.

During your third year of the Doctor of Audiology program, you will complete an investigative project. You will also complete written, comprehensive examinations before beginning your externship.

As a RUSH University student, you will learn through the teacher-practitioner model, which integrates coursework, patient care and research. Graduates of this audiology program have a 100 percent pass rate on the national Praxis examination at the time of graduation.

The RUSH University Doctor of Audiology program is ranked among the best in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
