Mission Statement

Women in Orthopedic Surgery is an organization committed to supporting and advancing women, and those that identify as women in the field of orthopedic surgery. WIOS aims to foster a sense of community by providing networking opportunities, mentorship programs, and educational resources to help our members excel in their careers.

The purpose of this group is to promote professional development of RUMC and Chicagoland area female medical students of all backgrounds to succeed in orthopedic surgery. This includes all who identify as female. As a student-led initiative, our chapter is passionate about creating a nurturing space for learning, mentorship, and collaboration. We strive to break down barriers and encourage the participation of women, and those that identify as women, through various panels, workshops, and opportunities for professional development.

We aim to contribute to the growth and transformation of orthopedic medicine while fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all our members.
