Mission Statement
Women in Anesthesiology is a volunteer-led professional organization dedicated to promoting the future of women in the field of anesthesiology. Our website functions as a place to manage membership and payment, keep track of upcoming events, and link to and highlight social media pages. We are committed to supporting women in the field of anesthesiology and creating opportunities for their professional growth and development. We offer a range of services including networking events, mentorship programs, and educational resources to help women succeed in their careers.
Given the developing body of literature surrounding the challenges women in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine (STEMM) face, we decided to form a group that helps focus on techniques and tools that will help women physicians advance in the careers while addressing the specific challenges women physicians may face .Women in Anesthesiology (WIA) is a physician organization committed to the professional and personal development of women anesthesiologists. We support the recruitment, retention, and job satisfaction of women in anesthesiology, promoting a culture of inclusivity and diversity.
