Services and Pricing

The RSPSL operates under good clinical laboratory practices (GCLP) and has experience with processing specimens for NIH-funded clinical trials (NIAID, DMID, NICHD) as well as trials conducted through industry (PPD, Q2 Solutions/IQVIA, COVANCE, ICON) and internal grants and collaborations with diagnostic companies (Abbott). For NIAID-funded studies and internal studies, specimen management is done using the web-based laboratory data management software (Frontier Science, Buffalo, NY, WEB LDMS). The WEB LDMS is a comprehensive computerized specimen management system designed to provide bar-code labeling, optical archiving, and electronic inventory, retrieval, and shipping of specimens.

Specific services include the following:

  • Specimen processing including plasma, serum, peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) and other bodily fluids and specimen types
  • Shipment of biospecimens, including dangerous goods (IATA-certified)
