Types of support provided by the Biostatistics Core include:
- Grant proposals and IRB submissions
- Sample size and power calculations
- Data analysis from:
- Electronic health records (EHR)
- Departmental chart reviews
- Clinical trials and observational studies
- Surveys and questionnaires
- National databases, including:
- National Inpatient Sample (NIS)
- National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP)
- National Cancer Database (NCDB)
- Meta-analysis and systematic reviews
- Assistance with writing statistical methods and results sections for:
- Manuscripts
- Abstracts and conference presentations
- Advise master’s and PhD students on theses and dissertations*
*If you are seeking assistance from the Biostatistics Core as a student for your coursework (such as homework, tests, thesis, capstone projects and dissertations), we are unable to conduct biostatistical and bioinformatics analysis for you. However, we are able to guide/teach you as you conduct analysis and answer questions that arise on coursework, with the exception of tests.
