The Research Specimen Processing and Shipping Laboratory consists of laboratories with Biosafety Level 2 (BSL2) and Level 3 (BSL3) containment and shares a freezer facility with emergency power and 24-hour temperature monitoring for -80°C and LN2 freezers. These facilities may be used for specimen receipt, specimen processing, and or dangerous goods shipping. The CRRL has experience with processing plasma, serum, peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC, viable and non-viable), cerebral spinal fluid (CSF), genital secretions and other bodily fluids.
