Latino CORE Study

En español: El estudio Latino CORE

Latino CORE is a unique study designed for older Latino adults. The goal is to learn about the aging process and the risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease of older Latino adults. The study includes yearly visits conducted at the participant’s home, at no cost. The study can be conducted in Spanish or English.

To join the Latino CORE study, individuals must:

• Be Latino/a or Hispanic
• Be 65 years and older
• Have no diagnosis of dementia or Alzheimer’s disease

What do you have to do to be part of the Latino CORE study?

• Meet all of the eligibility criteria
• Participate in an annual study visit that includes a memory exam, a blood draw, and answering questions about your health and lifestyle*. All participants receive a copy of their memory and blood test results.
• Consider organ donation at the time of death

*The study visits are not meant to not replace regular medical care. The goal of Latino CORE is to learn about Alzheimer’s disease and Latinos.

Individuals who join the Latino CORE study will be making an important contribution to our knowledge about Alzheimer’s disease and the aging process of older Latino adults.

El estudio Latino CORE

Latino CORE es un estudio único diseñado para latinos mayores de edad. Su propósito es aprender más sobre el proceso del envejecimiento y los factores de riesgo para el Alzheimer en los latinos mayores de edad.  Es estudio incluye visitas anuales conducidas en la casa de los participantes, sin ningún costo. El estudio se puede llevar acabo en inglés o español.

Para ingresar al estudio Latino CORE, una persona debe:

• Ser latino o hispano
• Tener 65 años o más 
• No tener un diagnóstico de Alzheimer o demencia

¿Qué tiene que hacer uno para ser parte del estudio Latino CORE?

• Cumplir con todos los requisitos
• Participar en la visita anual del estudio que incluye un examen de la memoria, una muestra de sangre,  y contestar preguntas sobre su salud y estilo de vida*. Todos los participantes recibirán una copia de los resultados de los exámenes de la memoria y sangre.
• Considerar donar sus órganos

*Las visitas del estudio no remplazan el cuidado médico regular. La meta del estudio Latino CORE es aprender más sobre el Alzheimer en los latinos.  
Personas que ingresan al estudio Latino CORE harán una importante contribución a nuestro conocimiento del Alzheimer y el proceso de envejecimiento en los latinos mayores de edad.
