The Alive Faith Network (AFN) is a unique community-academic partnership blending wisdom and faith with Rush's scientific knowledge to improve the health and well-being of members of the African American community.
The Alive Faith Network exists to improve the holistic health of African American clergy, congregants, and communities by serving African American pastors in low-resource areas as they cope with the concerns and needs of their congregations.
We focus on identifying key health and wellness concerns for African American pastors while creating opportunities for support, including wellness retreats and Lunch N' Learn information.
Our Community Health Ministry is an advisory council of churches that aid Rush University researchers and the Alive Faith Network in prioritizing community health needs and creating sustainable health programs.
We facilitate community-based participatory research partnerships with local churches to address health inequities and improve the overall health and wellbeing of the African American community.
Thrive Alive is an interactive monthly health education series hosted by the Alive Faith Network.
We are excited to continue to improve the holistic health of African American clergy, congregants, and communities through our Keep It Movin' initiative in the Northwest Corridor. Interested in learning more; contact us at AFN@rush.edu to speak with our team.
