Prolonged physical inactivity can lead to an increased risk of chronic illness and loss of independence.
Regular physical activity strengthens our bodies, decreases stress, and improves our overall health.
Mobility means independence. The more you can move, the more you can enjoy regular activities with ease, like grocery shopping and spending time with your family.
Keep It Movin' is here to help!
Created in partnership with pastors and community members throughout Chicago, Keep It Movin' works to empower African American communities to safely increase their daily physical activity for overall improved health. Our church-wide walking program promotes daily physical movement and community accountability. All church members will receive access to a mobile application titled Walker Tracker, which provides uniquely programmed walks throughout Biblical landmarks to promote increased physical activity.
In addition to the church-wide walking program, a group of adults (40 years and older) with limited mobility from each church will be invited to participate in one of our two Keep It Movin' specialized support programs: GetFit4Life or Stronger4Longer.

We provide the tools needed to help participants make active lifestyle changes on their own schedules.

Stronger4Longer
We provide in-person instruction to help participants make active lifestyle changes within a group setting.

- Weekly 90-minute exercise class
- One-on-one support
- In-person weight training
