Welcome from Our Program Director

Welcome to the Rush University Medical Center Department of Anesthesiology Residency Program! We are thrilled you are considering our program for your anesthesiology training. Here at Rush, we are deeply committed to fostering a supportive and challenging environment where residents can flourish into exceptional anesthesiologists.  I am proud to say that our Rush trainees are sought after by fellowship programs and anesthesia groups looking for well-trained anesthesiologists. 


We are a large program with 80 residents and we have received continuous accreditation from the ACGME. Our residents are exposed to a wide variety of cases which encompass the entire spectrum of anesthesia disciplines. The majority of your training will take place at Rush University Medical Center, a state-of-the-art hospital with over 600 beds and training programs in all major specialties. The facilities available to trainees are impressive.  You will also have the opportunity to rotate to other sites, such as Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital for additional pediatric anesthesiology experience, Endeavor Health for community based anesthesia practice and for cardiac anesthesiology, and Rush Oak Brook Surgery Center for ambulatory and regional anesthesiology. We want you to leave our training program with the absolute confidence to manage any situation. 


I am honored to be the program director for one of the premier anesthesiology residency programs in the country. Beyond the operating room, you'll find a robust didactic curriculum, simulation training, and opportunities for research and scholarly activity. We believe in equipping our residents with the knowledge, skills, and critical thinking abilities necessary to become leaders in the field.  Our goal is to prepare you for the American Board of Anesthesiology examinations and inspire you become an excellent anesthesiologist who can thrive in any situation.
