
The Section of Psychiatry and Medicine provides psychiatric and behavioral health care in a variety of settings for individuals with complex medical conditions, including cardiovascular disease, lung disease, and cancer, among others. Members of the section are active in a wide range of efforts to improve care at the interface of medical and psychiatric illness.

Faculty and staff in the Section of Psychiatry and Medicine include physicians, social workers, and nurse practitioners, all of whom are specialists with added qualifications in providing mental health care to those with combined psychiatric illness and medical illness.

Clinical services within the section include the Psychiatric Consultation Liaison Service and Emergency Psychiatry Service, as well as the growing Transplant Psychiatry Service.

Members of the section are active contributors to the education of psychiatric trainees, including medical students and residents in the general psychiatry residency program.
