We are happy to host visiting students and provide an opportunity to rotate here and experience the educational opportunities at RUSH firsthand. Visiting students rotate through RUSH University Medical Center, Stroger Hospital or Rush Oak Park Hospital.
We participate in AAMC’s Visiting Student Learning Opportunity (VSLO) and require applications to be submitted via the VSLO service. For further details regarding rotation dates, application requirements, and other specifics, please click here.

Alexander Doolas Visiting Student Rotation Scholarship
We are also happy to offer our scholarship for the Alexander Doolas Scholarship. Designed for highly qualified fourth-year medical students in need of financial assistance, this award opportunity will provide mentoring, networking, and stipend support to selected visiting medical students. The RUSH Department of Surgery’s General Surgery Residency and Integrated Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency are offering the awardee(s) a stipend for $2000 to help defer the costs of flights, lodging and incidental expenses. Stipends will be awarded to the students who best demonstrate their interest in surgery and academic ability to pursue the rigors of an academic surgical career.
