Annual Health Fair: ORD features an on-site medical clinic for its employees. Nurse Practitioners Shelia Leen and Anne Slager handle about 2,000 patient visits each year, providing quality primary care for ORD employees. The clinic regularly addresses immediate health concerns, ranging from ear infections to musculoskeletal problems or upper respiratory infections. It offers one-on-one counseling for issues such as insomnia, stress, weight loss or stopping smoking. It also helps employees cope with chronic illness such as arthritis, high cholesterol, diabetes or hypertension. The clinic also offers services such as flu shots, general yearly physical exams and an annual Health Fair. This event, which was completely free for ORD employees, provided information on breast cancer, high blood pressure, preventative dental care, healthy eating and CPR.
