I am a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist who has earned bachelor’s degrees in biology and nursing with a minor in chemistry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, a master’s degree in nursing with a specialty in nursing anesthesia at Augusta University and a doctor of nurse anesthesia practice degree at the University of Michigan-Flint. My background includes clinical practice in both Level-1 trauma centers and in rural healthcare facilities, specializing in pediatric anesthesia care. With experience in business ownership and program development and implementation, I bring over 10 years of both clinical and academic experience to Rush University.
Being a nurse anesthetist, it is a joy to provide patients with compassionate nursing care through my highly specialized field. Nursing is the core of what I do, and I use my nursing skills in every patient encounter. It is a true gift to inspire, teach, and make an impact on the next generation of advanced practice nurses and on the field of anesthesia.
I love that Rush University understands the value of interdisciplinary and collaborative teamwork to provide exceptional patient care. I feel privileged to be making an impact as a part of the faculty at Rush University Medical Center.
Mentors and sponsors are trailblazers. They seek out potential, tread new paths, and teach others to become leaders themselves. Mentoring and sponsorship is essential to raise the next generation of medical faculty through innovation, collaboration, scholarship, research, and teaching.

I enjoy spending time with my husband, my three-year-old son and my golden retriever, Aspen. As a family, we love volunteering through pet therapy, traveling and enjoy the outdoors!
