Amanda Donald is a Chicago native that is excited to be back in her home city to continue her training at Rush University Medical Center. She finished internal medicine training in San Francisco at Kaiser Permanente prior to joining the Addiction Medicine team. Her interests within the field are broad, but she has special interest in treatment of medical and other professionals such as pilots or train conductors. She also hosts an instagram page on the topic of addiction medicine in which she uses to help her study and remember key facts while also providing education and information to the public in easy-to-understand snippets. When not working, Amanda enjoys taking golf lessons, going to the theatre, and all things Korean barbeque. She is so excited to be joining the team and is ready to get to work!
Daniel Ignell is from Chicago. He received his bachelor’s degree in Biology from St. Louis University. Dr. Ignell completed his medical degree at American University of the Caribbean and completed a family medicine residency at Rush-Copley Medical Center where he spent time creating and implementing an alcohol withdrawal protocol for the hospital as well as raising awareness about substance use disorders. He is excited to be a part of the Addiction Medicine Fellowship at Rush because of its commitment to this diverse patient population and the excellent training provided by esteemed professionals. Outside of work he likes to rock climb, snowboard, wake-board, and frequent bike trails. Dr. Ignell loves to travel internationally and is constantly planning his next trip.
