Clinical Operations and Emergency Medicine
The fellowship provides a 1 to 2-year immersive experience in ED and Health System Administration for Emergency Medicine Residency program graduates. Fellows will develop expertise in ED operations and throughput, quality improvement and patient safety, hospital strategy, telemedicine, hospital finance, care delivery processes, informatics, and workforce management.
The fellowship is in partnership with the Rush Health Systems Management executive degree program, which consistently sits in the top 5 of U.S. News and World Report's rankings. Much of the activity will involve participating in inter-professional, cross-departmental teams. Clinical work will be at Rush University Medical Center and Rush Oak Park Hospital. Beyond the core curriculum, the fellow's activities will be tailored to his/her individual interests. A one-year fellowship is available for applicants who already hold advanced business or health management degrees (e.g, MBA, MHSA).
