Andrew Klein, MS, RRT, RRT-ACCS, RRT-NPS, AE-C, FCCP, is the Adult Clinical Education Coordinator in the Department of Cardiopulmonary Sciences, Division of Respiratory Care at RUSH University Medical Center and an Assistant Professor in the respiratory care program at RUSH University in Chicago, IL. Klein has been at RUSH University Medical Center since March 2014. He started his respiratory therapy career in December 2003, receiving an associate in applied science from Illinois Central College in East Peoria, IL. He then completed his Bachelor of Science in respiratory therapy from the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO, in 2011, followed by a Master of Science in Respiratory Care in 2017 from RUSH University in Chicago, IL.
Before his current posting, Klein was a shift supervisor at Unity Point Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria, IL, for 10 years. His clinical practice experience is mainly focused on adult critical care. He has been a nationally recognized preceptor of the American Association for Respiratory Care since 2017. Klein is a member of the mechanical ventilation domain task force at The American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST), was named a Distinguished CHEST Educator in 2021 and 2022 and also a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST) in 2022.
