USC Leadership
Chair
Fabiola Loera-Garcia, MS, has worked at Rush's Office of Institutional Effectiveness since 2019, but has served in various roles throughout RUSH since 2005. In her current role as Senior Research Data Analyst, she helps write, distribute, and analyze several student, alumni, and institutional surveys. Fabiola loves working with data and generating tables and charts to present survey summarized results. Fabiola had the honor of serving on the USC task force that established the USC and is excited to return and continue to advocate for her fellow staff members.
Vice Chair
David Sedillo, MBA, is a foreign medical graduate who has worked at the Rush Alzheimer's Disease Center since 2013. In his current role as a Research Manager, he oversees Rush's participation in the National Patient-Centered Clinical Research Network (PCORnet®), the PaTH Network, the CAPriCORN Network, and the All of Us Research Program. His work centers around improving RUSH's capacity to efficiently conduct patient-centered health research, working with research teams, and engaging patients, clinicians, and community stakeholders to develop new projects. David is excited to help provide a collective voice for our staff and team to improve employee satisfaction and the effectiveness of the institution.
Corresponding Secretary
Pranav Mishra, MD, has been at Rush University for 3.5 years as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow. As a researcher with the Departments of Surgery and Orthopedic Surgery, Pranav works with patients at Rush and donors from the greater Chicago area. His translational research projects include the Bone-Fat-Glucose Interface with bariatric surgery patients, investigating novel interleukin receptor therapeutics for OA-PTOA, and next-generation transcriptomics experiments in the lab. Pranav joined the USC last year to better understand the challenges faced by staff and to help enhance the professional development opportunities provided by Rush.
Treasurer
Theresa Mathes, MPH-MSMOB, has worked in RUSH's Alzheimer's Disease Center for over 19 years. She is currently a Senior-level Research Coordinator overseeing the operations of one of the center's diverse cohort studies. Theresa also leads a team of Community Engagement Specialists dedicated to maintaining relationships with participants in two African American studies. In her role, Theresa strives to be an agent for change, making a significant impact on under-represented populations to shift the paradigm of health and care. As a member of the staff council, she hopes to support new ideas that will enhance employee satisfaction and subsequently improve the patient experience.
