USC Leadership

Chair

David Sedillo, MBA, is a foreign medical graduate who has worked at the Rush Alzheimer's Disease Center since 2013. In his current role as a Research Manager, he oversees Rush's participation in the National Patient-Centered Clinical Research Network (PCORnet®), the PaTH Network, and the Chicago Area Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Network (CAPriCORN). His work centers around improving RUSH's capacity to efficiently conduct patient-centered health research, working with research teams, and engaging patients, clinicians, and community stakeholders to develop new projects. David is excited to help provide a collective voice for our staff, to improve employee satisfaction, and strengthen the effectiveness of the institution.

Vice Chair

Mona Rizeq, BS, works within the Office of Integrated Medical Education at Rush Medical College, where she helps coordinate student exams and support daily academic operations. She joined the Staff Council because she cares deeply about collaboration and wants to help make things better for everyone. Mona believes meaningful progress comes from communication, empathy, and teamwork, and she’s committed to contributing to a supportive and transparent environment for both staff and students at Rush.

Corresponding Secretary

Shulamite (Shula) Mathew, BA, has been working at RUSH for three years. She works as a Service Coordinator for Early Intervention at the Child and Family Connections Office, part of the RUSH grant programs. Shula coordinates and facilitates intake screening, initial developmental evaluation, and ongoing home-based therapies for children (ages 0-3). Shula works to maintain transparency and teamwork with families, doctors, therapists, and daycare providers as she assists families in finding community resources and coordinating their CPS transition process. Shula served on the Policy Development and Advocacy committee last term and looks forward to continuing to be an ally, advocate, and active listener for all concerns.
