Flying Food Health Fair

More commonly known as “the Flying Food clinic,” The Flying Food Healthy Living Program provides quality, comprehensive and cost-effective primary care and wellness services in a built environment, the worksite, to meet the needs of the diverse Flying Food Group O’Hare employee population. The clinic provides care to over 400 individuals employed at Flying Food Group, a catering service for airline meals. Along with nurse practitioner students, two College of Nursing Faculty Practice advanced practice nurses receive support from Flying Food management and Human Resources to promote prevention of illnesses and chronic conditions on a day to day basis in addition to a yearly health fair called, “Flying Food Health Fair.” While some individuals may come to the fair for the giveaways and chair massages, they leave with a little more knowledge about preventative health, CPR and health insurance. The event also provides nurse practitioners and nurse practitioner students an opportunity to meet employees outside of the clinic and talk about services.
