Addiction Medicine Clinic

The Addiction Medicine Clinic brings together addiction specialists from the Psychiatry Department and other departments to offer comprehensive services to those who suffer from substance abuse issues. The multidisciplinary team has expertise in a wide range of areas and is experienced at working together to coordinate treatment so the experience is streamlined and easily accessible.

Comprehensive evaluation

We understand that everyone suffering with addiction has a unique set of circumstances. The team at the Addiction Medicine Clinic collaborates to create individualized treatment plans. These plan uses a variety of approaches, customized to each patient. Patients are encouraged to ask questions and voice your concerns before, during and after the diagnosis process. The more our team knows and understands you as a person, your symptoms and your behaviors, the better we are able to personalize your evaluation and care going forward.

Innovative treatment options

The team at the Addiction Medicine Clinic takes a harm reduction approach to treatment with the primary goal of working together with our patients. Treatment plans may include individual and group therapy with a licensed clinical social worker, inpatient and outpatient services and medication.

Medication and medication management

The clinicians at the Addiction Medicine Clinic are conservative about medication. While we are serious about treating symptoms, we strive to do so with the least amount of medication possible. However, sometimes medication may help improve your quality of life. Medication assisted treatment with a licensed clinician may include: Suboxone, Vivitrol and more.

Psychotherapy

A licensed clinical social worker provides therapy five days a week as an important aspect of the treatment process.

Case management

We offer case management services to connect patients to additional resources including residential treatment programs and self-help groups.

Learning opportunities

The Addiction Medicine Clinic offers positions for Medical Students, Residents, NP/PA Students, Pharmacy Students and Addiction Medicine Fellows.
