Rush Dermatology brings together exceptional clinicians, educators, and researchers — united by a commitment to care, teaching, and discovery.
Across nine clinical sites in the Chicagoland area, we provide the full spectrum of dermatologic services — medical, surgical, and cosmetic. Our expertise spans complex medical dermatology, cutaneous oncology/Mohs, dermatologic surgery, dermatopathology, and pediatric dermatology. Each year, we care for tens of thousands of patients, reflecting the breadth of our reach and the depth of our commitment.
Our faculty are nationally and internationally recognized leaders in patient care, education, and research. Rush Dermatology builds on a legacy dating back to James Nevins Hyde, who in 1874 was appointed the first professor of dermatology at Rush Medical College — among the earliest such roles in the nation. That foundation continues to shape our department’s growth and influence today.
Education is central to our mission. We train residents, fellows, and students to develop expertise, lead with integrity, and advance the field. Learners gain diverse clinical experience, dedicated mentorship, and opportunities to drive improvement in care, contribute to scholarship, and engage with the community.
Our research spans clinical trials, outcomes and access, health services, and translational science. This work improves how we diagnose, treat, and prevent skin disease — and our collaborations across Rush and with regional partners accelerate that impact for patients and communities.
Most importantly, we deliver care that is easy to access, delivered without delay, and consistently excellent. Patients experience clear communication, coordinated services, and care plans that reflect their individual needs and goals.
Whether you are seeking care, training, or collaboration, welcome to a department where care, teaching, and science reinforce one another — every day.
