Mission
The Student National Medical Association (SNMA) is the nation’s oldest and largest organization dedicated to supporting underrepresented students in medicine and addressing the needs of underserved communities. As the Rush University chapter of SNMA, we proudly carry forward this mission on a local level by creating a supportive, empowering space for students who identify as underrepresented in medicine. Our affinity group is more than a student organization — we are a family that fosters connection, celebrates identity, and advocates for equity in healthcare and medical education. We are committed to uplifting one another through mentorship, academic support, outreach, and leadership development. At Rush, we strive to ensure our campus reflects the diversity of the world we serve. Through intentional programming, service, and advocacy, we aim to strengthen the pipeline of diverse future physicians and advance a healthcare system where every patient and provider feels seen, heard, and valued.
