Intellectual Property Policies and Procedures

Inventions disclosed after May 11, 2010

The 2010 intellectual property policy governs any inventions, discoveries or authored works that are covered under Rush's intellectual property (IP) policy and are disclosed to Rush after May 11, 2010.

Important changes from the 2002 policy include the following:

  • The revenue distribution schedule for inventions has changed.
  • Rush has a right of ownership to certain types of authored works (copyright disclosures). Licensing revenues for these works are linked to the revenue distribution schedule.
  • If Rush releases an invention or discovery to the inventors or authors, Rush will no longer retain a 4 percent ownership but may require repayment of out of pocket costs incurred by Rush, as well as a grant back to Rush.
  • The makeup of the IP committee has changed.

Inventions disclosed between Dec. 12, 2002 and May 11, 2010

The 2002 intellectual property policy governs these inventions.
