Jun Li, PhD, MD
Li is an orthopedic surgeon who had five years of clinical experience in China and received his PhD at the Soochow University in 2014. Currently, he is a post-doctoral fellow at Rush University Medical Center. His research has been supported by several grants such as the China Post-doctoral Science Foundation (2016), Guangdong Province Science and Technology Project (2016), Shenzhen Science Technology Innovation Committee project (2015) and Jiangsu Province College Postgraduate Research and Innovation Project (2012). Li is a member of the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR) and the International Chinese Musculoskeletal Research Society (ICMRS). He won the 2017 ASBMR Young Investigator Award and the 2017 ICMRS Webster Jee Young Investigator Award. His major research interests include: 1) pathological mechanism and behavioral assessment of disc degenerative disease using mouse genetic models and spine surgery models, 2) intervertebral disc mesenchymal stem cell lineage tracing, and 3) regeneration and repair of articular cartilage.
