College of Nursing Receives Strong Rankings From U.S. News & World Report

Rush University College of Nursing received top rankings in the 2017 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s "America's Best Graduate Schools" survey.

Among the nation’s 519 nursing colleges with graduate programs, Rush ranks in the top one percent overall for Doctor of Nursing Practice programs and top three percent for Master of Science in Nursing programs.

Overall Rankings:

  • Best Nursing Schools: DNP  (No. 5)
  • Best Nursing Schools: Master's (No. 16)

Seven specialty programs are ranked top 10 in the country:

  • Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing (No. 2)
  • Clinical Nurse Leader (No. 3)
  • Nursing Anesthesia (No. 4)
  • Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, Primary Care (No. 4)
  • Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, Acute Care (No. 4)
  • Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (No. 5)
  • Family Nurse Practitioner (No. 9)

The College of Nursing was ranked 11th in U.S. News’ 2016 Best Online Programs rankings, which were released in January.

Rush University is a top-ranked health science university. It is the academic component of Rush University Medical Center, a leading academic medical center.

Rush University was founded in 1972 and has expanded from one college and fewer than 100 students to four colleges and an all-time high of 2,280 students in 2013-14. It includes Rush Medical College, the College of Nursing, the College of Health Sciences and The Graduate College.
