Kierny completed her Master’s of Science in Nursing degree at Rush University College of Nursing and the Clinical Nurse Leader certification in 2010. At the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, she specializes in neurological injuries, specifically, spinal cord injury, brain injury, and stroke rehabilitation.
She obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree and Family Nurse Practitioner certification at Rush in 2017, with a doctoral research focus on improving access and utilization of primary care services for underserved adolescent populations in Chicago.
Her primary teaching responsibilities include health assessment for Generalist Entry Master’s students and pathophysiology for doctoral level students.
