Dr. Ferry-Rooney completed her BSN at The University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1992 after which she practiced on a medicine unit at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston. In 1995 she relocated to Chicago and completed her Masters Degree in Nursing/ Adult Nurse Practitioner at Loyola University Chicago. She is board certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. She earned her DNP in Population Health Outcomes at Rush University in 2015, focusing on Trauma Informed Care in Primary Care.
Dr. Ferry-Rooney has extensive experience as a Nurse Practitioner having worked in many areas including Occupational Medicine, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Addiction Health, and Asthma, all of which were offshoots of her ongoing Primary Care Internal Medicine practice. Much of her beginning practice occurred within the Cook County Hospital and Health System. In 2007 she left Cook County, and currently practices Primary Care at the University of Illinois Health, section of Internal Medicine.
