Lupus and Patient Reported Outcomes
Meenakshi Jolly, MD, MSCP, is Professor in Departments of Internal Medicine and Psychiatry-Behavioral Sciences at Rush Medical College. She is the Associate Program Director for Rush Rheumatology Fellowship Program, Sub-Specialty Education Coordinator for Rheumatology for Internal Medicine Residency Program and Co-Program Director for the Master in Clinical Research Program in the Rush Graduate College. She earned her MBBS degree from Delhi University, India. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine from the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, and Rheumatology fellowship and Master of Science for Clinical Professionals from the University of Chicago, Illinois. Jolly has been active with the American College of Rheumatology as part of the annual meeting planning committee, abstract review committee, ACR journals publications committee and is Past chair of the State of the Art (ACR) meeting. She has also been actively engaged with various Lupus organizations and is currently on the Medical Advisory Board for Lupus Society of Illinois. She is on the editorial board for Arthritis Care and Research, Lupus and Journal of Clinical Rheumatology.
Jolly’s clinical, educational and research focus is in Lupus and health outcomes. She is the Director of Rush Lupus Clinic and uses Bio-Psychosocial model for health with attention to Patient Reported Health Outcomes. She is the developer of patient reported outcome tools LupusPRO, Lupus Impact Tracker (LIT), Body Image in Lupus Screen (BILS) and Simple Disease Assessment for People with Lupus Erythematosus (SIMPLE). She is the PI for Rush Lupus Data Registry and Study on Outcomes of Lupus (SOUL) and her work relates to improving understanding and health outcomes in Lupus. She also leads the lupus clinical trials at Rush University and is the site PI for Lupus Clinical Trials Networks. She formed the Lupus Support group at Rush (Lupus Education-Awareness Resources & Networks-LEARN at Rush) along with LaShon Gurrola and is the Chair for annual Lupus Educational meeting for patients at Rush University Medical Center.
