Katherine (Kate) M. Schafer is a teacher/practitioner certified as a pediatric clinical nurse specialist, clinical nurse leader, pediatric acute/critical-care nurse, and healthcare simulation educator. Her clinical background is in pediatric critical-care and camp health, with special interests and expertise in congenital heart disease, family presence during resuscitation, and simulation. She is currently completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in Transformative Leadership: Systems. Ms. Schafer teaches in the prelicensure MSN/CNL program and collaborates on several interprofessional simulation projects.
