Judith Frei earned an associate degree in nursing from Northeastern University in Boston Massachusetts in 1979. After working for a year at Massachusetts General Hospital she moved to San Francisco. In San Francisco, she worked in intensive care and clinical education at San Francisco General Hospital for nearly 15 years. During that time she completed a master’s degree in nursing from University of California, San Francisco with an emphasis in cardiac intensive care. In 1995 she moved to Chicago and has taught at the undergraduate and graduate level. She has worked at Rush University College of Nursing since 2004. Being a life long learner, and wanting to invigorate her clinical expertise, she completed a doctor of nursing practice with family nurse practitioner licensure in 2016. She currently works as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Rush Sue Gin Health Center at Oakley Square and teaches pre-licensure pathophysiology and pharmacology and advanced pathophysiology.
