Jonathon Van Schelt, PhD, studied medical physics at the University of Chicago and trained at the University of Washington before joining the faculty at Rush in 2017. Prior to this, he was a basic scientist in experimental nuclear astrophysics. He provides clinical medical physics services in the Department of Radiation Oncology at both Rush University Medical Center and Rush Oak Park Hospital, and teaches residents in the Radiation Oncology and Medical Physics programs. He specializes in stereotactic techniques, planning, and overseeing SBRT and SRS treatments.
