Glenn Stebbins, PhD, is a professor of neurological sciences at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. In addition to his strong interests in the application of advanced neuroimaging techniques (e.g., fMRI, diffusion tensor imaging and SPECT) to investigate structural and functional changes in age-related disorders, he has extensive experience with rating scale testing and development. He was one of the primary investigators who developed the Unified Dyskinesia Rating Scale (UDysRS). In addition, he served as the chair of the scale development standards committee and the steering committee of the Movement Disorder Society sponsored revision of the Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale (MDS-UPDRS). He is actively involved in the development of validated non-English translations of rating scales including the UDysRS and MDS-UPDRS. He currently serves as the co-chairperson of the committee on rating scale development for the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society. He serves as consultant and chief statistician to numerous clinical studies in Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders.
