Cardiology, Heart failure transitional care programs, NP models of care in ICUs
Barbara Kitzes Hinch is an Associate Professor in the College of Nursing. She teaches courses in the DNP program and advises students in the Adult Gero Acute Care program. She co-chairs the DNP Project Oversight Committee. This committee is a collaboration between the CON and nursing clinical leaders to ensure DNP projects will align with the strategic goals and initiatives of Rush System of Health and be a positive learning experience for DNP students. She is certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with a clinical focus in cardiology. She has led several quality improvement initiatives focused on heart failure transitions of care and reducing 30 day readmissions for patients with heart failure.
