Dear Future Residents,
We are thrilled and honored to serve as your Chief Residents this year. We are excited to get to know each of you even better and make everyone feel supported and celebrated. We're excited to help foster a sense of teamwork, friendship, and community throughout the year.
One of the things that makes our residency program so special is our residents. We genuinely care about one another—not just as colleagues, but as people. Whether it's covering for each other during difficult times, celebrating our accomplishments, or finding reasons to laugh after a long day, we've built a culture rooted in compassion, resilience, and support. This culture we have at Rush-Esperanza is what truly makes our program special.
As Chiefs, we hope to be approachable, dependable, and strong advocates for each of you. Our aim is to promote open communication, encourage collaboration, and foster an environment where everyone feels heard, valued, and empowered to grow both personally and professionally. We will work to continue fostering a culture in which we learn from one another, lift each other up, and never lose sight of why we chose family medicine. We’re learners, too, so we welcome feedback and suggestions you have to improve our program further.
Residency isn't easy—if it was, everyone would do it!—but having a community of peers to laugh and learn with makes it easier and memorable. From grabbing ice cream after didactics to making stickers of each other to share in the group chat, we hope this year is filled with many more moments like these that remind us why this community is so special.
