Application Process

Prerequisites

This is an ACGME-accredited training program for individuals who have successfully completed a four-year psychiatry residency program in the United States or Canada. At the current time, the complement for the fellowship is one position. Therefore, we are unable to accept off-cycle applications. 

Application 

Timeline for July 1, 2026, fellowship start date: 

• Match opens: October 15, 2025. 
• Ranking opens: November 05, 2025.
• Rank Order List Certification deadline: December 17, 2025. 
• Match Day: January 7, 2026

We will be utilizing the ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service) and NRMP (National Residency Matching Program) to recruit for the fellowship class that will be starting on July 1, 2026. ERAS will open July 2, 2025, for fellowship applicants to begin submitting applications and fellowship programs may begin reviewing applications on July 16th, 2025.

The Rush Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship Program participates in the National Resident Matching Program® (NRMP®) through the Specialties Matching Service® (SMS®), as do most USA – ACGME approved CL fellowship programs.

Accreditation 

The program is fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

Certification 

After successfully completing the program, you are eligible to take the subspecialty certification examination offered by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
