Welcome from the chiefs
Hi!
We are the 2025 – 2026 Peds Chief Residents, Bianca and Joyce (AKA PB&J). We were both born and raised in Chicago and couldn’t imagine training anywhere else (yes, even in the winter!). Our time at Rush has given us the privilege of caring for the same communities and families that shaped us, and we are proud to be part of a program deeply committed to serving the diverse neighborhoods of our city. In our role as chiefs, we strive to create a space where residents feel heard, supported, and empowered, while partnering with faculty to sustain the dynamic, collaborative training environment we love. As first-generation physicians, we know firsthand the importance of mentorship, representation, and belonging, and that’s exactly what Rush is about. We’re excited for you to experience the same sense of purpose and community that has made our time here so meaningful, and we can’t wait to welcome you into the Rush family!
