The Hospital

  • RUSH is a 679-bed academic hospital with more than 70 residency and fellowship programs in medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties
  • RUSH University Medical Center is top ranked in the region
  • We are a major referring sleep center in the area supporting a diverse, medically complex patient population
  • The sleep center is comprised by an 8-bed sleep laboratory at the main campus and a 7-bed sleep laboratory at RUSH Oak Park Hospital, sleep studies are conducted nightly, 7-days a week
  • We also conduct day sleep studies and multiple sleep latency tests (MSLT) and support a strong outpatient and inpatient sleep screen program
  • We co-manage patients pre and post upper airway stimulation (Inspire device) and are part of the national Adhere registry
  • We are collaborating with cardiology for diaphragmatic nerve pacing for central sleep apnea disorders

  • Our faculty are members of local and national committees, invited speakers in local and national meetings including for the board review course with the AASM
  • We have the best fellowship coordinator, lab manager and fulltime day sleep technicians

  • We have an amazing group of advanced providers with academic interests who participate in research and educational activities and are super fun to work with

Education

  • We offer an introductory “bootcamp” for incoming trainees to get quickly acquainted with sleep testing
  • State-of-the-art technology that facilitates on site and remote-learning experience
  • Systematic board review support for fellows/faculty and participation on the AASM In-Training exam
  • Weekly multidisciplinary case presentations and Sleep Medicine Grand Rounds
  • Benefits through GME at RUSH include conferences, book allowance, free parking or public transportation, and a discounted gym
  • Fellows do not do night or weekend coverage
