The Recine Award

The Juliet A. Shaffer Recine Nursing Oncology Research Endowment was established in 2010 by Michael and Juliet Recine. Juliet was a patient who passed away from cancer in March of 2010 and her husband continues to be the recipient of stewardship efforts for their endowment.

The Recine Award encourages innovation in nursing to ultimately improve care for oncology patients at RUSH and around the world. The requirements of the endowment award include: a research or evidence-based project that focuses on oncology nursing or patient care; the project team willing to disseminate findings at the RUSH System for Health annual events, such as the Research Forum and Professional Nursing Staff venues; and dissemination at a local, regional and/or national conference with consideration for journal publication when appropriate.

Please contact for more information on how to apply for the Recine Award.
