Rush University is located just off the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290), five minutes west of Chicago’s Loop, and is conveniently accessible by car, bus, train or bicycle.

Parking
Visitors to Rush University may park in the main garage at Paulina and Harrison streets. This is an enclosed garage with a fourth-floor walkway leading to the Armour Academic Center. See parking rates.
Monthly parking is available for students in the following parking garages for $40 per month, plus a $30 refundable deposit for an electronic access device.
- Rush main garage and the staff and student garage across the street from the Armour Academic Center
- University of Illinois at Chicago parking facility at 1100 and 1139 W. Harrison St.
To purchase the electronic access device, you must bring either cash or check for the deposit and first month’s parking charge with you to student orientation. If you do not purchase a parking pass at orientation, you can pay the $10 daily employee rate. Public transportation
Public transportation can bring you right to Rush's door. There are a number of options to choose from.
Chicago Transit Authority train
The following CTA train stations are adjacent to the RUSH campus:
- Illinois Medical District (Blue Line)
- Polk (Pink Line)
CTA bus
The following CTA bus routes include stops at or near Rush:
- No. 7 Harrison (weekdays)
- No. 9 Ashland (weekdays and weekends)
- No. 126 Jackson (weekdays and weekends)
- No. 157 Streeterville/Taylor (weekdays)
Metra train and shuttle
If you ride a Metra commuter train to either Union or Ogilvie train stations in the Loop, you have the option of taking the RUSH shuttle to campus. Review the Rush shuttle information sheet for more details.
PACE bus
PACE Route 755 provides weekday, rush-hour service between Plainfield and downtown Chicago. Inbound and outbound buses stop at Harrison and Paulina streets in the morning.
Divvy bikes
The following Divvy bike-sharing stations are located near Rush's campus:
- Harrison Street and Ashland Avenue
- Ogden Avenue and Congress Parkway
- Polk Street (CTA Pink Line station)
Campus shuttle
Rush operates a free campus shuttle for employees and students traveling between buildings on campus, nearby Rush locations and remote parking lots. A valid Rush security badge is required to ride.
Service hours:
- Weekday mornings: 5:30 to 10 a.m.
- Weekday afternoons: 3 to 7 p.m.
- Courtesy Rides may be available outside of these service hours
Courtesy Rides
Rush offers free door-to-door courtesy rides within the Illinois Medical District for employees, students and patients. Rides depend on driver availability.

Campus tours
In lieu of campus tours, the colleges of Rush University recommend you connect with recruitment staff at one of our on-campus or online information sessions. Prospective medical students, residents and fellows may receive tours as part of their interview days.
