Review, Promotion, and Tenure (RPT) will be Rush's online system for managing annual reviews, promotions, and other academic review processes. It will provide a centralized, secure workflow for submitting materials, completing evaluations, and routing cases through the review steps.
RPT brings together the materials needed for review while streamlining collaboration among faculty, administrators, and review committees. Through the system, candidates can submit required documentation, reviewers can complete evaluations, and cases can be advanced electronically to the next level of review.
Understanding the RPT Packet
An RPT packet is a structured collection of materials submitted for review or promotion consideration.
- Upload required documents directly into packet sections.
- Review materials before submission.
- Submitted sections become locked and cannot be edited without administrator assistance.
Before submitting an RPT packet, faculty should review each section and confirm that all required materials are complete. After a section is submitted, it is locked to preserve the integrity of the review process and can be reopened only with administrator assistance.
RPT Pilot and Launch Timeline
The RPT system is currently being introduced through a phased implementation. Beginning in Summer 2027, all faculty will use RPT for annual performance reviews. Additional information about training opportunities, office hours, and implementation timelines will be shared as they become available.
-
Where do I find the promotion requirements?
Promotion requirements have not changed with the introduction of Interfolio. Faculty Promotion toolkits are available for each College on the Faculty Promotion Toolkits page.
-
When do I submit my promotion materials?
Submission timelines vary depending on the type of review and your academic unit. Your department or Faculty Affairs will communicate deadlines and instructions for preparing and submitting your RPT packet. Faculty are encouraged to keep their Faculty Activity Reporting (FAR) records current throughout the year to make packet preparation easier when submission periods open.
-
What happens after I submit?
After submission, the RPT packet is routed electronically to the reviewers identified in the workflow established by the faculty member's academic unit. Submitted sections are locked to preserve the integrity of the review process and can be reopened only with administrator assistance. Reviewers and committees evaluate the materials, and the packet advances through each required stage until the review process is complete.
