Rush University faculty must use recent, official Rush head shots in their academic profiles. If you are a Rush faculty member who does not have a head shot, you can schedule an appointment here.
The instructions below for providing alternate headshots apply only to fully remote faculty members who are unable to travel to the Rush campus because they live outside the Chicago area, and who teach exclusively in online programs.
Faculty members who are unable to have their photo taken by Rush Creative Media because they are located outside the Chicago area, and who teach only in online programs, may supply their own headshots for use in their academic profiles.
Headshots must meet the following criteria:
- Orientation: The photo must be shot in horizontal (landscape) orientation, meaning that the original image is wider than it is tall, with background included on both sides of the subject
- Dimensions: All photos must be a minimum of 3000 pixels wide, at a high resolution. When possible, we prefer to receive original image files (photos which have not been cropped and reduced in size) to maximize quality and clarity
- Subject and content: The image must be a professionally photographed head shot, depicting the person facing forward in clear focus, against a solid grey background
Some examples of inappropriate photos include exterior locations, patterned backgrounds, candid photos, photos originally containing other subjects that have been cropped out, and photos showing the subject in profile / from the side.
Rush Marketing reserves the right to decline publication of any photo if it does not meet these requirements, or does not otherwise align with the website's content and quality standards.
