VITAL is a community-based research initiative focused on measuring the health of Chicagoans. Our goal is simple: track how the health of Chicagoans evolves over time in response to the changing landscape of the city.
The VITAL Team is inviting community members from specific areas of Chicago to participate in our research study. You can check to see if your address is in a qualifying area by clicking the button below and inputting your address in the search box.

As part of this project, we’re offering free health checkups to a group of residents in and around West Garfield Park and Englewood. These visits will give us important data to advocate for real policy change, promote well-being, and uplift the health of our communities.
If you've received a recruitment coupon, please click the button below to begin taking our survey. When asked for a username, please input your VITAL ID and no password.

Once eligibility is confirmed, you will be asked to attend two in-person health visits over the course of five years. At each visit, we will measure your blood pressure, height and weight, and conduct some basic blood tests (all results will remain confidential). As a thank you for your time, all participants will receive a stipend. Our team may also ask you to refer your eligible friends and family members to be a part of the study.

When you participate, you're not just helping yourself—you’re raising your voice for your entire community. This is more than research; this is a movement for change!
