RUSH Medical College is pleased to announce the recipients of this year’s student awards. Honorees in the class of 2023 were selected by faculty, staff and classmates for achievements in academics, research, patient care and community service.
The award winners were recognized at the medical college’s annual Awards Ceremony and Commencement Banquet on Friday, April 28 at the Hilton Hotel.
In addition to the awards presentations, the graduates recited the Hippocratic Oath for the final time together and this year’s class respondent, J. Roberto Varela, shared a toast with his classmates.
Varela also wrote the following note to his classmates in this year’s awards ceremony program:
“As we celebrate the incredible journey of our medical education, let's take a moment to appreciate our accomplishments, the invaluable contributions of our patients and loved ones, and the strong bonds we've formed along the way. Throughout the past four years, you've shown that our class’s limitless potential extends beyond the hospital walls, and I look forward to seeing the impact each of you will make. Congratulations to the class of 2023!”
