Discover the Many Student Groups at Rush University

Students mingle at the Fall into Rush event

To begin the fall term, Rush University students had the opportunity to stop by the Fall into Rush Student Organization and Affinity Group Fair. They connected with student leaders and learned more about the many active groups on campus who share similar interests, passions and experiences.

Dheer Patel is the Co-editor in Chief of Habitus: The Health Humanities Journal of Rush University. The organization gives students a space to artistically express and educates the community on the diverse experiences in medicine, healthcare and science.

“We’re inspiring people to talk about their HPI which is a play on, obviously, the history of present illness, but we’re saying to submit something that speaks to your history, perspective or identity in any artistic form that you feel is best,” Patel says.

Jessica Clay is the president of the Student Nurses Association. SNA connects students with faculty and each other. The organization supports students no matter what stage of their education they are in by providing service hour opportunities and mentor programs.

“We host a new cohort welcome and a scrub drive,” Clay says. “We also have a mentor-mentee activity throughout the semester where one of the earlier, first term mentees meet with someone who has already gone through the program. It’s another way to bring all the cohorts together.”
