Admission Requirements
The following materials are required to complete your application. Please submit only the documents listed below. Failure to follow these guidelines or submission of additional, unrequired documents may result in your application not being reviewed.
Personal Statement
Your personal statement must be limited to one page and should include:
- Your current research interests.
- Your goals upon completion of the degree.
- Details about your previous research experience.
- Your intention to enroll full-time or part-time.
CV/Resume
A CV or resume is required and should include:
- Academic honors.
- Undergraduate and graduate awards.
- Employment history.
- Internships.
- Summer research programs.
- Education history.
Unofficial Transcripts
An unofficial transcript from every college and university attended is required.
- Transfer credits listed on another institution's transcript do not eliminate the requirement to submit a transcript from that institution.
- Transcripts should be uploaded electronically through the application system.
- Official transcripts will be required upon acceptance to the program.
Letters of Recommendation
A minimum of three letters of recommendation is required, with a maximum of five letters accepted.
- Letters must be submitted directly through the online application by your recommenders.
- Recommenders must use a professional or institutional email address. Personal email addresses (such as Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) will not be accepted.
International Applicants
Applicants who earned a degree outside the United States must submit the following:
- Proof of English Proficiency: Official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores are required. These are the only two English proficiency exams accepted. Scores may be sent directly to us. This requirement may be waived for applicants who completed their degree in a country where English is the official language. If you believe you qualify for a waiver, please contact the Admissions Team for information about the requirements and acceptable documentation.
- Credential Evaluation: An official course-by-course credential evaluation from either Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or World Education Services (WES) is required. These are the only two credential evaluation services accepted. Please review the ECE or WES website for evaluation requirements.
Standardized Test Scores
Standardized test scores are optional. Applicants may submit scores from one of the following exams:
- GRE
- MCAT
- PCAT
- GMAT
- DAT
Grade-Point Average
GPAs must be reported or converted to a 4.0 scale.
Virtual Interview
Once your application is 100% complete and has been officially submitted, it will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. Applicants selected to move forward in the admissions process will be invited to complete three virtual interviews:
- One interview with a member of the Admissions Committee.
- Two interviews with faculty members who share your research interests and may have potential research labs in which you could complete your research.
Background Check and Immunizations
Prior to matriculation, all accepted students must complete a criminal background check and submit required immunization records through CastleBranch.
After acceptance, you will receive instructions on how to order your required CastleBranch package.
Application Fee
An $88 application fee is required.
