Dr. Boco is a diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgeons, He is assistant professor of neurological surgery at Rush University Medical Center and director of neurosurgery services at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.
After attending medical school at the University of Chicago, he completed his neurosurgery residency at Rush University Medical Center. He then spent several years at San Juan Regional Medical Center, in Farmington, New Mexico, where he eventually assumed the role of director of spine services with an emphasis on minimally invasive spine surgery.
After joining Neurological Surgery and Spine Surgery, S.C., Dr. Boco has developed an active practice focusing on spine care, including, degenerative disease of the neck and lower back as well as cancer of the spine or spinal cord. He has extensive experience utilizing minimally invasive techniques, when appropriate, to treat the most complex spine conditions.
Dr. Boco is also interested in tumors of the brain and he uses image-guided operative techniques and stereotactic surgery in form of the Cyber Knife or the Gamma Knife.
He has authored several peer-reviewed medical articles in neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery and he is author of several book chapters focusing on neurosurgical care. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies.
Dr. Boco has privileges at Rush University Medical Center, Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, MacNeal Hospital, LaGrange and Hinsdale Memorial Hospitals, Bolingbrook Hospital, Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, and Aiden Center for Day Surgery.
Dr. Boco sees many foreign language-speaking patients. He is fluent in German, Spanish, Czech and French.
